General Documents Required (All Countries)
- Valid Indian Passport (minimum 1.5 years validity from intended travel date)
- Confirmed admission letter / invitation letter from the university
- NEET scorecard (or equivalent qualification proof)
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates
- Medical fitness certificate (from a government doctor)
- HIV negative certificate
- COVID vaccination certificate (if applicable)
- Bank statement showing sufficient funds (amount varies by country)
- Passport-size photographs (as per embassy specifications)
- Police clearance certificate (PCC) from local police station
Country-Specific Visa Guides
🇷🇺 Russia
Visa type: Student Visa (Category 2 — Single Entry → Multi Entry after registration)
Processing time: 5–10 working days (Embassy of Russia, New Delhi / Consulate Mumbai/Chennai)
Key additional documents: HIV-negative certificate (not older than 3 months), University invitation from the Ministry of Education of Russia
Timeline: Invitation → Visa application → Travel → Registration at university and local OVIR within 7 days of arrival
Important: You must register with local migration authorities within 7 days of arrival. Your university handles this for you.
🇰🇿 Kazakhstan
Visa type: Student Visa
Processing time: 7–15 working days
Key additional documents: University acceptance letter, accommodation guarantee from the university
Note: Kazakhstan introduced an e-visa facility for Indian students; check current embassy requirements before applying.
🇵🇭 Philippines
Visa type: Student Visa (9(f) visa) — converted from Tourist Visa after arrival
Process: Indian students enter on a Tourist Visa → Apply for conversion to 9(f) Student Visa within the Philippines through the Bureau of Immigration
Processing time: 4–8 weeks after arrival for conversion
Important: Do NOT leave the Philippines during the conversion period
🇬🇪 Georgia
Visa type: Georgia allows Indian students to enter visa-free for up to 365 days (as of 2024). A residence permit for studies is required for longer stays.
Residence Permit: Applied at the National Agency of Public Registry (NAPR) after arrival, with the university's help. Processing time: 10–30 days.
🇰🇬 Kyrgyzstan
Visa type: Student Visa
Processing time: 7–14 working days
Process: University sends an official invitation → Apply at Kyrgyz Embassy in New Delhi → Travel → Register at local migration office within 5 days of arrival
The Visa Process — Step by Step
- Get your admission confirmed — Receive acceptance letter and invitation from the university
- Collect all documents — Medical certificate, PCC, mark sheets, photographs (Akash Overseas provides a full checklist)
- Submit visa application — At the relevant embassy or via the official online portal (country-specific)
- Attend visa interview — Some embassies require an in-person interview; we prepare you for this
- Receive visa — Typically stamped in your passport (or e-visa sent to email)
- Travel and register — On arrival, complete any required registration within the mandated time

- Applying too early before the university issue date on the invitation letter
- Using a passport with less than 18 months validity
